We saw colour, structure, prints and lots of fur on a freezing cold afternoon in the Tuileries, where Chloe showed its Fall 2012 show yesterday.  Green also seemed to be the coleur du jour; we saw it on fur, on bags, on knitwear and on leather.  And, of course, all the gorgeous Chloe devotees wore the labels trademark muted palette of nudes, beiges and blushes.  Check out some of our most stylish snaps from outside the tent below.

chalayan f/w '12: runway

Yesterday we took you backstage at the Chalayan show; today, we're taking you to the front row.  Chalayan's show was definitely the highlight for us this fashion week.  Not only was the collection beautiful, the show was also wonderfully executed to highlight each design story within the show.  The overall mood of the show was simple and effortless, but achingly cool.  "I've been doing this for so long; a lot of it is instinctive," Chalayan told Style.com's Tim Blank's after the show.  It really was.  We also managed to speak to him quickly backstage before the show began and the designer was calm and collected.  His confidence and cool was wonderfully reflected in the clothes he sent down the catwalk.  The pieces our buyers are loving so far?  The dual-coloured coats are a surefire hit for the coming fall.

chalayan f/w '12: backstage

We were lucky enough to go backstage at Hussein Chalayan's Fall 2012 show, which showed earlier this week at Paris Fashion Week.  We saw top supermodels Ming Xi, Daiane Conterato, Maria Bradley and Hanne Gaby Odiele walking Chalayan's runway in glorious pieces which demonstrated the designer's astute knowledge of colour, form and structure.  Have a sneaky peek backstage at the glorious Chalayan show and stay tuned for our runway video coming up soon.

after dior: editors, etc.

The Christian Dior show is bound to bring out all the most stylish men and women from around the globe, and though we all thought the show was going on inside, it appears that the real show nowadays takes place on the pavements outside the tents, after the show.  The Rue de Varenne was overflowing with street style photographers; we saw many a tourist walk by in utter shock and confusion over what was going on.  It truly was a phenomenal spectacle where style icons such as Carine Roitfeld and Anna Dello Russo were shouted at as if they were mega movie stars such as Nicole Kidman or Tom Cruise, in an attempt to capture their attention.  It's hard not to get caught up in all the adrenaline.  Below, here are some of the most stylish show-goers we managed to find.

after dior: models galore

It was models galore after the Dior show at the Musee Rodin this afternoon; all the most sought-after faces were out and about, glowing from the buzz of the beautiful show that Bill Gayten showed for Dior Fall 2012.

dior: asian invasion

There were many beautiful things that you could say about the show that Bill Gayten showed for Christian Dior today at the Musee Rodin.  We saw how he introduced leather panelling in a more sophisticated and feminine way than ever before and we were even persuaded to wear dusty pinks and pale pastels in the winter, as demonstrated in the latter part of the show.  But what caught our eye the most was how noticeably fierce the Asian models were; newcomers Sui He and Lee Hye Jung were joined on the catwalk by veterans such as Shu Pei and Liu Wen, and they really did steal the show.  The soft yet confident vibe of the show really complemented their features.  Can't wait to see more Asian faces on the runways in Paris this season!

around le marais

The whole team has arrived safely at our gorgeous loft apartment in the Marais district of Paris.  Le Marais is famous for its quaint cobble stone paths, stand-alone boutiques, cozy brasseries and buzzing artistic energy.  Once we were all settled in, a couple of us went for a stroll around the neighborhood to get an idea of our surroundings.  We came across some incredible street art near the Centre Pompidou, Paris' museum of modern art, and we discovered that Le Marais is teeming with up-and-coming designers and gorgeous small stores filled with devine merchandise.  We ended the evening with a curbside drink at a local bar du vin, and a warm meal with our beautiful friend, Imogen, from sass & bide at a restaurant around the corner where we ran into the charming Marios Schwab.  Definitely a successful day.  And now it's time to get ready for Hussein Chalayan's show!

paris, j'adore

In Paris for Fall 2012 fashion week!  If you ever go to Paris, on the first day you arrive, it's always best to plan as little as possible.  Go for long strolls around your hotel neighborhood, stuff yourself with tasty pastries, and, well, inevitably shop.  A lot.  Paris is a truly beautiful city and its beauty is amplified each fashion season with the hundreds of models that you see around the city.  Fashion week here officially kicked off on Tuesday, but many haven't arrived in from Milan yet, so the streets aren't quite as crazy yet as they will be in the next coming days.  So, for now, let us take you through our stroll through the city, picture-by-picture.  Don't forget to follow us on Twitter & Facebook for more current updates on how we're going here in Paris!

Going to Paris is an excuse to pig out on pastries.  Nowhere else are they more delicious than here in Paris.  A pain suisse is a delicious but horrifyingly fattening pastry stuffed with chocolate chips and custard; but when you're in Paris, the calories don't count, right?

Most shops in Paris open between 10-10.30 am, but Prtintemps opens at 9.45.  Printemps is separated into several different buildings, each containing: beauty products, menswear, womenswear and home furnishings.  We love this Tom Dixon window which was created in partnership with the Printemps team.

If you only have time to go shopping in one area, without a doubt, you should head to Boulevard Haussman.  This is where you will find Printemps and Galleries Lafayette, which stock all the major and cult brand.  There are also high street shops such as Zara and H&M nearby.  Head to Sephora for your beauty fix.

Lunch at the Paco Rabanne cafe in Galleries Lafayette.  Everything there is black, white and red.  The food?  Delicious.

The gorgeous Place Vendome just after midday.  It was quiet there yesterday, but it will soon be teeming with street-style photographers, models and style mavens.

Look what we found opposite the flagship Chanel store on Rue Cambom?  It's Jamin Puech!  Everything inside the store was magnificently whimsical and artisnal.

You can't go to Paris without trying La Duree macaroons.  They are baked with classic techniques and delightful flavours.  And their packaging is divine.

Inside our macaroon box: citron, cassis, caramel, framboise, pistache, chocolat, foret noir and grapefruit.

The Eiffel Tower is a Parisian icon.  Many people like to go up to the top, but it's really best viewed from afar.  From the right vantage point, the tower looks downright regal.  Here, the view from Avenue Montaigne at dusk.

f/w '12 trendspotting: monochrome prints

It's never too early to start predicting trends for the next season and, well, this one's really more of a carry over trend from the Spring to Fall 2012 runways.  We saw a lot of monochrome prints for the coming summer, and it seems like this is a trend that's going to carry on through the year.  New York Fashion Week turned out a whole army of monochrome printed models.  Yes, it's a tricky trend to pull off, but it you get it right you'll look oh-so chic.  A definite eye-catcher!  Who do we think did it best?  Why, Peter Som, of course!  We love the unexpectedness of the sleeveless printed shirt with a Mandarin collar.  Print perfection!

chalayan goes ga ga

Lady Ga Ga is coming to Hong Kong and the streets have been abuzz with anticipation.  The pop superstar defied her childhood upbringing where she was bullied as an outcast to become the world's biggest selling musical artist of our generation.  Her Born This Way tour has been described not just as a music concert, but as an inspirational theatrical performance, complete with mind-blowing costumes, props and sets.  So, naturally, when Ga Ga was putting together a team with which to collaborate on this project, she chose the best in the business.  One of those people was Hussein Chalayan.  Famous in his own world of design for creating clothes that are, literally, transformative (think skirts that turn into tables, dresses made from light bulbs), Chalayan also designed the "vessel" from which Ga Ga becomes "reborn" in order to perform her hit single, Born This Way.  Aside from his namesake main collection where Chalayan has the freedom to explore the very form and function of his clothes, he also produces two much more accessible lines, Chalayan Grey and Chalayan Black, which explore similar themes to his main line, but in a much more wearable way.
