Electric sekki presents in Hong kong
London Show Rooms
Roksanda Ilincic is a consistent designer--each season, there are a couple design elements that we can expect from her in her collections; namely, colour-blocking and volume. Her Spring/Summer 2013 collection was the same, but she applied these house signatures in an entirely different narrative story. For spring, Roksanda explored England's Northern Soul movement; a period in the 60's and 70's defined by the upbeat tempo of American soul music. Ilincic's silhouettes were generally long and never cut too closely to the body. That's another one of her signatures; she never reveals too much skin. She also drew inspiration from Josef Albers' colour experimentation work, which Ilincic described as, "rigid, masculine and precise." Roksanda's graphic approach to colour-blocking here was done with absolute precision and rigidity. Roksanda Ilincic was a huge hit at London Show Rooms Hong Kong 2011, and we're sure she's set to be a favourite again this year.
