Richard Nicoll's Spring/Summer 2013 show was full of Nicoll-isms: utilitarian influences, colour blocking, fuss-free fabrics and a slight androgynous touch. Nicoll has recently really gone back to his initial design roots, taking his original aesthetic into today's fashion world. A major theme of the collection was seen in his zipper-slit skirts, which often unzipped to to reveal an under-layer of sporty mesh--it's sexy while still remaining utterly chic with a slight boyish quality, even. As usual, Richard's choice of colour was spot-on and his textile sourcing added a futuristic element to the collection, without taking it to a cliched place. All in all, a collection we're all dying to wear and one we know we'll feel amazing wearing.
