staz in nanushka

When we saw hottie Staz (she's a model from LA) in this Nanushka top on one of our favourite fashion news blogs, Fashionista, we squealed with delight.  I mean, talk about a match made in heaven.  Staz has got to be one of the coolest girls being photographed right now: she's been shot for H&M and ASOS, featured as a model of the month in Vogue Japan, photographed for Nylon Magazine and is fresh off the back of a campaign shoot for BCBG's Fall 2013 campaign.  She's undoubtedly a rising star, this one and she's got a whole lot of style to boot.  It takes daring and confidence to rock a top like this one from Nanushka the way Staz has--but, hey, she's got a rockin' bod, so why not show it off?  It's one of our favourite pieces from the Nanushka Fall 2013 collection and now that we've seen it on looking incredible on Staz, we'd even say it's one of our favourite pieces of the season, from any designer!

best bet: flawless facial

If you're stuck in town over the long weekend coming up and you're not sure what to do with yourself, then we might have the perfect pick-me-up.  Flawless, our absolute favourite spa in the whole world who, last time we went, gave us the best facial and massage experiences of our lives (which you can read about here) is doing a special offer for first-time customers (don't we wish we were first-time customers right now, too)!  And it's a really good deal: 30% off any facial if it's your first time there.  We would highly recommend adding a massage on top of that to get the full experience--it's a lovely little sanctuary right in the middle of Hong Kong and their therapists all come from 5-star backgrounds and are really lovely people.  If you want to do a full splurge for yourself (why not!) then definitely get a mani-pedi afterwards.  The manicure we had there a couple months ago was one of the longest lasting manis we've ever had.  A spa day at Flawless is definitely our Best Bet for the long weekend and, hey, we just might see you there!

ana's little dresses

We all love a fun little cocktail dress--especially Hong Kong-based celebrity model, Ana Rivera.  Known in the industry simply as "Ana R.", the stunner has cultivated a successful career for herself as a both a face and a spokesperson.  Her gorgeous looks and killer bod have also turned her into a major favourite for the men in this city, particularly because she's often showing off that incredibly physique in a sexy little dress.  When Ana R turned up at two events recently in the city wearing little dresses by Electric sekki labels, sass & bide and ksubi, we can't say that we were surprised!  The two pieces fit Ana to the T and are the perfect complement to her fun-loving and warm personality.  She kept to a sexy look on both occasions with a pair of classic black strappy heels, but we can also see these dresses being worn with a pair of chunky ankle boots to toughen up the look.  However you wear it, let's just hope we look as good as Ana does in these two little dresses!

inhabit 10th anniversary: the doll project

10 DOLLS . 10 DESIGNERS . 10 LOOKS . 10 YEARS .
In celebration of 10 successful years in Singapore's fashion retail business, Inhabit is launching their 'Doll Project', an adorable idea that features 10 dolls designed by 10 different designers (all stocked at Inhabit) in 10 different signature looks representing each designer.  It's a wonderful little project that several of Electric sekki's designers were lucky enough to be a part of: House of Holland, ksubi and Richard Nicoll.  House of Holland's Henry Holland designed a quintessentially over-the-top metallic green coat dress with a nipped-in waist, complete with bejeweled hair clip.  The ksubi boys created a distressed statement tee with tattered denim jeans and a head of riotous purple hair.  Finally, Richard Nicoll recreated one of the looks from his Spring 2014 runway collection: a knit houndstooth dress with a sheer pale pink shift worn underneath.  See each of their dolls and the full set of 10 below.  Congratulations to Inhabit on a successful 10 years of bringing incredible fashion to Singapore--here's to the next 10!

i.t's 25 anniversary in paris

To celebrate their 25th Anniversary, Hong Kong & China-based retail juggernaut, I.T, commissioned some of their top designers to create a special piece done in silver, to be displayed at the popular Galleries Lafayette during Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014.  Naturally, some of Electric sekki's favourites were included in the line up: sass & bide, ksubi and Richard Nicoll.  The sass & bide girls recreated one of their best-selling cocktail dress shapes in silver--the perfect little party dress to celebrate a 25th anniversary!  The ksubi boys went all-out, as per usual, and created an insane metallic studded denim monster.  Finally, Richard Nicoll, the master of clean lines and smart design, created a sleek metallic leather dress; an understated look that really stood out amongst the other over-the-top designs.  If you're in Paris, make sure to check it out!  The traveling exhibition will come to Hong Kong and Beijing soon, so stay tuned to find out when you can experience it!

love at chalayan

Yesterday, we introduced you to Chalayan's mesmerizing Spring 2014 collection, which he recently showed at Paris Fashion Week.  Today, we're taking you backstage at the Chalayan show through the lens of stylist Katie Grand's LOVE Magazine.  We always love to see the behind-the-scenes images of our favourite shows, so we were super excited to see these pop up on our news feed.  In these backstage snaps, we get an up-close look at those insanely gorgeous oversized hats, a better look at those sunglasses, more angles on the clothes and, of course, the beautiful models chilling-out behind-the-scenes.  It's one of our favourite backstage pieces we've seen so far this season and it's a great opportunity to let the team relive the stunning collection once again!
