ksubi x richard nicoll sunnies

If you're like us and couldn't wait to get a close-up look at those Ksubi sunnies debuting on Richard Nicoll's Spring 2012 runway, then look no further: they're here!  Cool new eyewear is one of the most important things that we look out for at the start of each Spring and these babies certainly do not disappoint!  Ksubi and Nicoll have collaborated several times in the past and we've loved all of their previous pieces, so we're so happy to see this fruitful relationship continuing next summer.  The styles below are such perfect modern interpretations of the quintessential wayfarer and cat-eye shapes; we love how Ksubi and Nicoll updated these classics with metallic silver accents.  They're set for release in March 2012; we'll be first in line, see you there!

♥ ELLE

ELLE Hong Kong's lovely Senior Fashion Editor, Winnie Wan, has been attending the shows at Milan Fashion Week dressed stylishly in some great Fall 2011 pieces. She's been snapped by InStyle online wearing retro-inspired shades and a perfect pair of distressed jeans from Ksubi, as well as a pair of loose printed pants from sass & bide. While we love seeing all the top editors from around the world such as Anna Dello Russo, Miroslava Duma and Carine Roitfeld dressed in over-the-top outfits straight off the runway, Hong Kong's very own Winnie is a breath of fresh air in her less-extravagent paired-back looks that we can't wait to emulate ourselves!

Ksubi is available in Hong Kong at Lane Crawford, I.T Harvey Nichols & Van D.

news flash!

We here at Electric sekki have been extremely lucky and grateful to have recently been featured in two of our favourite online publications: WGSN and AsiaTatler.com. Firstly, this very blog was featured as one of WGSN's blogs to watch in Hong Kong, alongside our good friends Cindiddy, The Wanderlister+, Judy Ip and Carmen Chan. Having just started the blog earlier this year in March, it is a great honour to be featured alongside these fantastic blogs that we read every day! Here's a big thank you to all of our readers; we love you all and really appreciate the support!

Our second bit of juicy press is that we were also featured as a Top Design Office by AsiaTatler.com. Amiee Squires-Wills, Electric sekki's very own Managing Director, came up with the design concept of our new showroom in the fashion hub of Wong Chuk Hang and, with the help of design firm inProjects, Electric sekki's super-slick new space opened in February this year. It is a joy coming to work in such a beautiful office each day; we gave you a tour of our showroom when we first opened, so make sure you check it out again here!

no. 21 by alessandro dell'acqua s/s '12

Alessandro Dell'Acqua's Spring 2012 collection definitely hit a sweet, sweet spot; the Italian designer delivered all the elements we have loved most about his designs since starting his No. 21 line.  Unique shirting with a modern twist, classic sexy lace, fun prints, perfect knitwear pieces and a slight touch of bling.  All these quintessentially Dell'Acqua elements came together to create a perfect capsule of the designer's ideal aesthetic: that gorgeous, sultry European woman with a world of class and sophistication.  The colour palette was perfect for summer without being too loud, and the textiles were, as usual, some of the best textiles we've seen so far at fashion month.  This was Dell'Acqua in tip-top form!

british design highlight: horace

Horace is one of those brands that's so cool that it hurts; they are fiercely creative and subversive, approaching their collections with a strong sense of individuality and a desire to merge fashion design with colourful illustration and unique textile manipulation.  Horace's designs are largely unisex; they break the boundaries of gender, age and race in search of a customer with an appreciation of art and the courage to stand out in a crowd.  Theirs are not pieces for the weak-hearted; they are very much unique statements pieces that have been loved by major style icons such as Kate Moss and Agness Deyn.  What we love most about Horace is how much fun the team always seems to have designing their collections.  London has long been thought of as a breeding-ground for strong design talent, and Horace is definitely a top contender in our book!

twenty8twelve s/s '12

The Miller sisters' Spring 2012 collection was a throwback to an era of gorgeous pin-up girls with full, bright red lips and perfect blonde locks.  Sienna & Savannah used ultra flattering draping techniques so that each piece hugged the body like second skin.  The sporty jersey and seersucker fabrics were a great modern update for their Bardot-inspired silhouettes, and we could easily see ourselves lounging around languidly at a Mediterranean resort in each one of their classic summer looks.  So throw on some bright lipstick, grab your best pair of movie star sunglasses, and hop on a luxury yacht, because this was a collection fit for a real bombshell!  We'll see you in Ibiza!

richard nicoll s/s '12

There was a wonderful calm sexiness about Richard Nicoll's S/S '12 collection, which he recently showed at London Fashion Week; it was as if he was trying to seduce us with every look. Hems were either cropped at a risque height just below the buttocks, or long and sheer revealing hints of long, lean legs underneath. The colour palette was serenely romantic; soft and dreamlike. His prints were blurred as if looking at them through hazy eyes, but were offset with a modern twist with the help of futuristic metallic textiles. Nicoll struck a perfect balance between fantasy and reality; giving us just a hint of the dream while still delivering it in a thoroughly wearable way. We can't wait to get our hands on these pieces next summer!  P.S. The eyewear you see in the show?  You guessed it: appearing on the catwalk was the second collaboration between Richard Nicoll x Ksubi, available in Asia March 12.
