Born in Hong Kong, Dicky Manana graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts with a concentration in painting and illustration; while studying, he discovered that photography 'gave him a sense of balance' and decided to pursue a career as a fashion, portrait and commercial photographer. Dicky’s most compelling quality is his ability to colour his images with strong elements of romanticism, fantasy and a hint of darkness. At only 17 years-old, Dicky started his own business, DICKY MANANA Photography, beginning by taking on small clients and quickly demonstrating a strong understanding of how to develop the commercial side of his business in order to adequately deal with the high demand for his photographic work. Dicky photographed our Les Artistes: The Industry Strikes Back! initiative, capturing photos with his signature use of colour and urban street quality which we love so much.
