Sammi Cheng <鄭秀文> has been a long-time supporter of Electric sekki, particularly favouring labels such as No. 21 by Alessandro Dell'Acqua and sass & bide for appearances on stage during her countless concerts and for photo shoots in magazines.  For her recent Tao Magazine cover shoot with Andy Lau, the king of Canto-pop, Sammi Cheng chose a stunning pair of bright purple pants by No. 21.  Sammi also wore more pieces from the label in the accompanying story: a unique black-and-white floral printed sweatshirt and a classic embellished silk cream dress.  Aside from No. 21, we were also thrilled to see Sammi rocking a pair of Havaianas sandals, lying on an oversized armchair dressed in what has to be the chicest looking loungewear we've ever seen!  Here at Electric sekki, we are incredibly lucky to have such gorgeous fans and stylish supporters of our designers--thank you Sammi, you look gorgeous, as always!  We can't wait to see what you wear next!

spotted: miriam yeung in sass & bide

Beloved queen of Canto-pop, Miriam Yeung <楊千樺>, has been busy performing her "Mark Lui Thank You" Concert <雷頌德Thank You演唱會> this month, an event dedicated to thanking iconic Canto-pop music producer, Mark Lui, for "20 years of no. 1 hits".  A concert such as this one holds a special place in the heart of Canto-pop star, Miriam Yeung and, of course, the special occasion called for a very special dress.  For her emotional performance, Miriam Yeung selected a stunning, graphic gown by sass & bide.  Its black & white colour palette ensures that it remains timeless for years to come, while its graphic corseted waist and sheer layered skirt elevates the look with an edgy punch, perfect for an on-stage performance.  We couldn't be happier that Miriam Yeung chose this sass & bide dress to wear on this special evening--truly a match made in heaven!

superwowomg x lauren engel

We here at Electric sekki have always been a huge fan of SUPERWOWOMG's downtown cool-girl style and we were especially happy to hear that she was teaming up with bright young photographer, Lauren Engel, on a mini photo shoot earlier this month.  Lauren's unique photographs are definitely inspired by her Instagram-obsessed generation; they have a spontaneity about them, are vibrant and have a look that resembles a vintage-filter effect that Instagram might try to emulate.  In her photo shoot, SUPERWOWOMG selected a range of pieces from Electric sekki that scream her style: a fun sheer chevron-print top from Minkpink, a pair of perfectly tailored baby pink pants by No. 21 by Alessandro Dell'Acqua and a downtown-cool printed silk bomber from TELA.  Check out the results of their shoot below--and, as always, we can't wait to see what else both SUPERWOWOMG and Lauren Engel come up with in the future!

electric sekki fw13 press day: trends

We've just wrapped up Electric sekki Fall/Winter 2013 Press Day and it was a wonderful two days where we got to catch up with all of our fashion friends and play a little bit of dress up, as well!  Thank you to everyone who came out to say hello; it was a joy to see you all.  Each season, Electric sekki curates our own selection of top trends that we love--for Fall/Winter 2013, our trends included the Caped Crusader, the Hitchcock Heroine, the Vampy Vixen, the New Grunge movement, Winter Whites and a Dark Romance.  It all sounds super exciting, doesn't it?  Have a sneaky peak at our favourite trends this season below and stay tuned on the blog next week for more behind-the-scenes snaps from Electric sekki Fall/Winter 2013 Press Day!

Caped Crusader: Nanushka jacket, Twenty8Twelve bodysuit, Twenty8Twelve leather shorts, TELA necklace.  

This trend is all about statement outerwear!  Favourites include Nanushka and D.EFECT, who have both come up with some really incredible coats this season.  Keep the rest of the look simple to really let your outerwear shine!

Hitchcock Heroine: TELA jacket, No. 21 collar, sass & bide bustier, D.EFECT skirt.

This trend was a favourite of many of our guests.  The Hitchcock Heroine is strong, mysterious and womanly.  She isn't afraid to be feminine--in fact, she uses her femininity as a weapon!  This trend is all about a sharp, classic, empowered woman.

Vampy Vixens: House of Holland top, No. 21 pants, No. 21 belt.

Electric sekki's take on the jewel-tone trend that has swept the runways.  Gone are the neons of Summer 2012 and pastels of Summer 2013; Winter 2013 is all about deep, rich jewel tones in emerald, ruby, sapphire and more.  The richness of the colours create a gorgeous, luxurious feeling which we love. 

Dark Romance: ksubi top, Minkpink skirt, TELA necklace, No, 21 bag.

We all love a Dark Romance!  This trend is all about wearing black, but in new ways!  It's not a harsh, boring black.  No, instead, it's all about the softer, more romantic side of black.  For example, we love the embroidery on this black denim top and the cut-out floral details on this skirt.

Winter White: sass & bide skirt, MINKPINK shirt.

White has been a very popular colour this year!  And the trend of wearing white from head-to-toe continues through the summer and into winter.  Going all-out white creates a really clean and sophisticated look that is perfect for all of you chic and elegant ladies out there!

Hedi Slimane did it at Saint Laurent and suddenly, everybody wanted to revisit 90's grunge again!  But this season, the grunge look has been updated with a modern touch, adding bejeweled elements and midriff-baring tops into the mix.  Crucial to this trend is your denim, which is why we love One Teaspoon's distressed boyfriend-style jean to finish off the look.

Superga Sneakers: It wouldn't be press day without a sprinkling of gorgeous Superga sneakers!  These new neon- and sherbet-coloured styles are absolutely delicious!

Havaianas Sandals: Although it's Fall/Winter 2013 press day, let's be honest, it doesn't get cold in Hong Kong until at least December, which is why it's still so important to include Havaianas in the mix!  It's safe to say there's no better companion than a pair of Havaianas to get you through the heat of the summer months!

How great does blogger Annabelle Fleur of VIVALUXURY look in One Teaspoon's 'Ironland' embellished leather shorts?  We love how she styled them with a basic white lace top and classic black strappy stilettos to really let the shorts shine.  Of course, she's got a great set of legs to show off, but the cut of these One Teaspoon shorts, as always, feature a flattering and leg-lengthening curved-hem, making her legs look supermodel long!  You can always count on One Teaspoon to make hands-down the best leather shorts, season after season.  We have to admit, we've got a whole pile of them in our repertoire!  Paired with a simple tee and ankle boots, they're our go-to no fuss, no muss look.

sarah jessica parker in stylestalker

For those of us who grew up watching Sex & The City, Sarah Jessica Parker will always hold a very special place in our hearts as the queen of fashion and style.  Her on-screen character as Carrie Bradshaw was fashion-obsessed, a devotee to the 'bible' of Vogue.  Much of that love of fashion has rubbed off onto Sarah Jessica herself, and she has confessed on many an occasion her love of design and style.  She is, however, also a working mom to three children, which is why she often favours comfortable basics with a twist on her days off.  So when we saw her in Stylestalker's 'Replicant' denim parka and 'Moon Base' sweater, it all made sense!  She wears these Stylestalker pieces with her signature Manhattan strut and quirky-cool style.  I mean, let's be honest, when it comes to the stylish Manhattan curbside strut, nobody does it better than Sarah Jessica Parker!
