spring 2014: richard nicoll

After a decade in the business, it's safe to say that Australian-raised, London-based fashion designer, Richard Nicoll, has really hit his stride.  His latest Spring 2014 collection was undoubtedly his strongest yet.  It featured all the codes of the label: the masculine-inspired shapes and the tailored boxy silhouettes, mixed in with feminine fabrics, creating a brilliant dichotomy of the sexes.  This season, Richard utilized a lot of sheer fabrics and classic patterns such as houndstooth and stripes.  Some of our favourite looks are definitely the sheer pieces with a houndstooth pattern embroidered or sequined on top, as well as some of the later striped pieces.  These are timeless offerings that we can see ourselves wearing for seasons to come, without ever looking outdated.  We absolutely cannot wait to start wearing the entire collection!
