superga diy: dicky manana

One of our favourite local photographers currently working in Hong Kong, Dicky Manana consistently produces work that is accented by his vibrant and interesting use of colour.  When it came to his Superga DIY project, Dicky used a similar approach to his DIY as he would use with his photography: he explored the use of colour.  "Black is powerful enough to be in harmony with all colours.  The master & slave!" said Dicky of his design.  The reason behind his obsession with vibrant colours?  His love of fish.  His room at home is full of fish tanks and he is often captivated by the colours and patterns on his fish.  In order to get that stark contrast against his pair of black Superga, Dicky lined the inside of the shoes with a strip of fluorescent blue light.  We are so impressed by his innovative and eye-catching design!
